GROUP I : WAEC Biology Specimen & Practicals

  1. Biology Specimen A: twig of mango plant
  2. Biology Specimen B: twig of ixora plant
  3. Biology Specimen C: leaf of Hibiscus plant
  4. Biology Biology Specimen D: hibiscus flower
  5. Biology Specimen E: green vegetable cut beef
  6. Biology Specimen F: a piece of freshly cut beef
  7. Biology Specimen G: worker bee (wet preserved)
  8. Biology Specimen H: soldier termite (wet preserved)
  9. Biology Specimen J: adult cockroach (wet preserved)
  10. Biology Specimen K: nymph of cockroach (wet preserved)
  11. Biology Specimen L: young toad (freshly preserved)
  12. Biology Specimen M: quill feather
  13. Biology Specimen N: scale of bony fish
  14. Biology Specimen P: freshly preserved mammalian skin preferably of goat or ram with hair/fur measuring at least 4cm by 4cm placed in a petric dish....

  1. WAEC Specimen S: a small amount of garden soil in a petri dish
  2. WAEC Specimen T: orange/lemon/lime/citrus fruits
  3. WAEC Specimen V: tomato fruit specimen W: cassava tuber
  4. WAEC Specimen Xi: stem of young cassava plant measuring at least 10cm in length
  5. WAEC Specimen Xii stem of young cassava plant measuring at least 10cm in length as in xi
Note the following if you are to partake in the biology examination practicals

  • WAEC Biology Specimen G: Fresh stomach of a Goat/Sheep/Cow(small piece)
  • WAEC Biology Specimen H: Fresh Liver of a Goat/Sheep/Cow(small piece)
  • WAEC Biology Specimen J: Fresh Small Intestine of a Goat/Sheep/Cow(small piece).

  • WASSCE Biology Specimen T: Freshly uprooted grass species
  • WASSCE Biology Specimen U: Brightly coloured lizard(wet preserved)
  • WASSCE Biology Specimen V: A branch of Cactus plant
  • WASSCE Biology Specimen W: Locust (wet preserved)
Note:
  1. Specimen N, P, Q and R are peculiar to candidates in Ghana only and should not be provided for candidates in Nigeria, Sierra Leone and The Gambia.
  2. Specimens S, T, U, V and W are peculiar to candidates in Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and the Gambia only and should not be provided for candidates in Ghana.
  3. All specimens can be provided as group specimens for fifteen(15) candidates.
  4. All specimens in each group must carry individual labels(e.g A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, J, K, L, M in Group I)

  • scalpel or razor blade;
  • iodine solution;
  • white tiles
  • a beaker;
  • a pair of forceps;
  • glass jar cover or petri dish;
  • magnifying lens/hand lens ;
  • test tubes;
